Zero Motorcycles 2011 Updates

Zero Motorcycles 2011 Updates

Zero Motorcycles has revamped its bikes for 2011 and no you haven’t gone deaf, they’re quieter, yep a whole new level of shhhh.  A switch from chain to belt drive removes not only noise but the regular chain gripes and could possibly make the bike even more attractive to new bikers looking for an eco-friendly commuter.  Another addition is a 12.5% boost in battery capacity and a quick-charge option that cuts charging times, unfortunately that option costs an extra $595.  However it may be worth it if you’re using the bike as a work commuter as it halves the charging time from four hours to two, with 90% achievable in an hour.

The road focussed Zero S is tagged at $9,995 which isn’t bad but its lack of range, 90Km, lets it down compared to the similarly priced Brammo.

The dual-sport Zero DS will cost you $10,495, off-road Zero X at $7,995, and the higher-spec Zero MX $9,495.
