The 2011 Honda CBR600F

The 2011 Honda CBR600F

Amongst Honda’s raft of bikes and scooters that appeared at last week’s Milan Motorcycle Show (We’ll have a full round up of every Milan debut later this week) was an old favorite.  However the new CBR600F has its share of critics with many saying the new bike is little more than a Hornet with a fairing and not the everyday sportsbike of old.

The original CBR600 was a fantastic bike.  a genuine all-rounder that many bikers used on the track, as an everyday commuter, and touring wasn’t unheard of either.  It was a legend in its own time as the first ‘big bike’ for many riders, one that inspired a huge level of confidence and also one that encouraged full on tinkering with every nut and bolt.

While its return is very welcome alongside Honda’s revamped range of 125cc, 250cc, and adventure bikes, many are claiming this version is lacking the love and sparkle of the original.  If you’re first in line to get one in the new year, perhaps you’ll let us know if it inspires a rekindled love affair, or is little more than a fun one night stand!

I have already ordered an ABS model in red and white. I have no doubt the bike will more than meet my expectations on returning to motorcycling after a 6 year break. I am not a born again biker having had bikes for the past 25 years.
